Trending Mobile In a Big Way

Flurry Analytics recently posted statistics tracking usage of smartphones and tablets across both Android and IOS devices. These statics are interesting, and maybe not what one might expect. According to Flurry, the average time spent per mobile device is slightly more than 2.5 hours per day. Of that time, 80% is spent within applications, and only 20% is spent browsing the web. Surprisingly, email only gets about 3 minutes per day. What is the biggest category? You might have guessed… [Read More…]

How Productive Are You?

The sheer pace of business and life makes it difficult to remember what comes next, what is critical, what is really important, and what can wait until tomorrow.  Applying technology is not the solution to every problem, and technology won’t solve our own lack of discipline.  But, this area of cutting through the clutter and staying focused is one that technology can certainly help with, if blended with good time management and organizational principles. Here are a few things I have… [Read More…]

Windows 8 Mobile

Have you noticed the barrage of ads about new Windows 8 phones and tablets?  It will be interesting to see what inroads Microsoft can make to the tablet market.  iPad and Andriod definitely have the market share now.  Microsoft would like to pick up both the consumer market and the business market with their new line.  The business market seems more likely at this point, since presumably the fact that it is a Windows 8 platform will create easier compatibility… [Read More…]

My Favorite To-Do List App

Looking for a simple to-do list app that works on iPad, Andriod, and PC? Check out Wunderlist.  It is a simple application that allows you to create lists of things to do. This app syncs to the web, so that you can have your to-do lists on all of your devices. It allows you to prioritize, set due dates, take notes, star items, and complete items. However, what I really like about it is that it is simple. Many to-do list managers make… [Read More…]
